Getting to know Bar Harbor

The town of Bar Harbor is located on Mount Desert Island, along the rugged Atlantic coast of Maine. Its cooling sea breezes and spectacular views have made Bar Harbor a popular summer resort for the wealthy since the 19th century. Whether you are shopping on historic Main Street, paying a visit to nearby Acadia National Park, or indulging in some Maine blueberry pie, Bar Harbor is extraordinary port of call on our journey.

Our All-inclusive Visit

After breakfast, a brief coach ride will take us to Acadia National Park, which is the smallest designated park of its type in the Unites States. Our first stop will be at lovely Sand Beach, flanked by pink Granite walls and opening to the Atlantic on one side. We’ll motor up Cadillac Mountain to the extraordinary Thunder Hole and take in the view from the highest elevation on the eastern seaboard, with stunning views across Frenchman’s Bay to the Atlantic Ocean below. On our way back to Bar Harbor, we’ll visit the Abbe Museum to learn about the Wabanaki Indian Nations who lived in this coastal region. In the afternoon, enjoy lunch on your own at a local restaurant with time to stroll the pretty coastal outpost community of Bar Harbor.
