Getting to know Gaspé

Gaspé is a large peninsula in Québec, Canada, stretching into the Gulf of St Lawrence. Originally settled by the Micmac peoples, Gaspé is likely a French version of the Micmac word for the “land’s end.” Gaspé has long been a center of a lucrative codfish industry. In the 19th century, its stony beaches and sunny days efficiently dry-cured the cod before shipment.

Our All-inclusive Visit

From the seaside town of Gaspé, we’ll take a scenic one-hour coach ride to Percé where you’ll board a boat and cruise to the Rock of Percé, a dramatic natural rock formation just off shore. Then we’ll continue to Bonaventure Island, a former mecca fot poets and painters and home of 293 different bird species—including puffins, cormorants, boreal chickadees, and one of the largest colonies of gannets.
